Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
Why Use Bath Salts?
Answer:
The answer to this question you must analyze the effects to both the
body and the soul.
Adding mineral rich salt from the Bonneville salt flats to your bath
water increases the salinity of the water -- which decreases the bacteria
count on your skin giving your body's immune system a break from the daily
war against invading microscopic intruders. The water feels softer
against the skin and aids in the shedding of damaged and dead skin while
at the same time providing therapeutic nutrients that your skin needs
to sustain newly forming healthy skin.
The water soluble, sensual fragrance used by sensual salts does not clog
your pours or "grease" up your skin leaving an undesirable buildup
after use. Our additives leave a soft and supple moisturized skin
reduced both in bacteria count and excess dead skin cells. Use our
products to aid in your daily body skin moisturizing routine.
Lets not forget the aroma therapy affects on the soul! Relaxation
helps build up your spirit that stress works so hard to tear down. The
body cannot live without the soul -- healing starts with your mind. That's
why we say our bath salts are good "for the body and soul."

Question:
How does your salt compare in quality to "Dead Sea"
type salt?
Answer:
What is commonly referred to as "Dead Sea" salt is processed
from the Southern Dead Sea in Israel. Health enthusiasts give dead
sea salt better health marks since it contains more nutrients due to the
fact that it is an inland sea that is surrounded by land. Years
and years of isolation and evaporation has concentrated minerals and power
packed it's salt with rich nutrients not present in ocean harvested salt.
The Bonneville Salts flats, part of the Great Salt Lake, is also an inland
bound sea! Although it is arguable which of the two types of salt
are more therapeutic (depending on which region and sample gathering technique
is used) nobody can dispute the mineral richness found in the Bonneville
Salt Flats harvested salt. It is basically a Dead Sea right here
in the United States!
Another issue that many people don't consider is the human aspect of
inspection. Many large bulk salt manufacturers use machines and
equipment to grade and sort their processed salt. This salt is then
mechanically mixed up with scent and other additives to make bath salt
products. It lacks a pair of eyes and hands that physically inspect
each and every batch like we do here at Sensual Salts.
Paying a high price for the chemical composition alone is not a good
economic decision. Quality of product is something we take serious.
Rigorous quality control and inspection is our way of insuring a
high quality end result for our customers. In this respect we believe
our salt to be the highest quality available.

Question:
What ingredients does Sensual Salts use in their bath salt mix?
Answer:
Our close location allows us access to salt resources that other companies
have to pay considerable shipping to obtain -- or use a lesser ingredient.
We are very close to the Bonneville Salt Flats and have utilized
this local resource in creating some of the finest bath salts available.
We insist on using water based fragrance for a more soothing bathing
experience that doesn't clog your pores or have adverse affects on the
skin and body. We use only hydrotherapy specific scent -- that is
specifically designed for disbursement into water. We don't use catch
all candle, soap, and wax type fragrances like others. Some of these
could damage the finish on your spa or tub. Ours is safe and wont
leave deposits or stains because it was created for this specific use.

Question:
What color are the bath salts?
Answer:
From our bath salts page you can
click on the hilighted bath salt scent and a subpage comes up with a photo
of a clear jar of the salts. This will give you an idea of the
coloration -- but as we all know it isn't an exact replica. There are
variences in lighting and its hard to actually capture the true color in a
photo. It does give a good reference though.
